The Jaguar Asia-Pacific Boating Regatta, hosted by Parineeta Sethi, Chief Editor & Publisher Asia Pacific Boating India magazine, was held on January 16 at the INWTC Colaba, Mumbai. The preview evening witnessed the crème de la crème of the yachting industry and the corporate world in attendance to celebrate the increasingly popular and high-octane sport in India—Sailing! There were a total of eight boats participating and the team names and respective captains were annouced. There were seven sponsor teams – Jaguar, Land Rover, American Express, California Travel and Tourism Commission, Caitriona by Ambience, Roca and Asia-Pacific Boating.

The energy levels were no less at the INWTC, Colaba, where the sailing event took place the next day. Each boat was sailed by two experts and six amateurs. Guests poured in huge numbers to get on the boats and sail. With a total of three races among seven teams and almost 200 participants, the regatta was a grand experience for those who dared—professionals or amateurs. Michael Persche, MD Audi India and Yogesh Shah, CEO Rolex, were among the few who ventured into the sea and experienced the fun. There were special sailing and kayaking races for children that saw huge participation as well.
