The 29 is powered by a North Sails main and jib in C-Cut Dacron. A great option you might consider is the full-width mainsheet track across the middle of the cockpit. This arrangement works well when you’re sailing short-handed as you can adjust both the main and the traveller while you’re on the helm. You can choose to have a second pair of Harken 35 winches on the coamings to supplement the ones on the coach roof. These are great for spinnaker legs. Like all Dehler yachts, the 29 is built from handlaid balsa-cored deck and hull mouldings that are laminated together, not bolted and glued. Floor beams are also laminated to the hull and aluminium reinforcing plates are laminated into deck stress points.
The Dehler 29 interior has a bright and open feel with really smart use of space. As always you can rely on the trademark Dehler quality finish. You access via the smart Dehler companionway with a three-part drop board which telescopes into itself to stow in the sill… there’s no loose boards to stow. The wood is beautifully finished – everywhere you look you will see and feel quality work. The interior is light an airy thanks to opening ports and deck hatches. The layout is simple and effective. There’s an open plan V-berth, a comfortable port aft cabin and a large wet gear storage locker to stabroard. All berths include comfortable Visco mattresses. You can seat 6 around the drop leaf saloon table and the galley is practical for cooking simple meals.
